Revisiting Tradition XII
A lady musician playing Ektara ( A single string musical instrument popular in Indian folk music)
Medium: Opaque water-based pigment on Vasli (Archival paper)
Size: 10” x 12” (Plain white wooden frame)
This is an original painting from a series I do, called “Revisiting Tradition”. This series is inspired by the centuries-old Turkish manuscript paintings. Executed in Sumaira Tazeen’s signature Mughal style rendering, these figurative subjects are my choice to speak for ordinary to regal.
